Any four wheel golf cart can be modified for use with the RIXSTER fiberglass body. New and used donor golf carts can be purchased at any golf cart sales and service shop near you. Your local newspaper and internet (eBay) are your other sources.

Complete working golf carts range in cost from $200 to $2000. The condition of their lead acid batteries has a great deal to do with their cost. Battery replacement cost for the standard lead acid powered golf cart is over $1000. The battery replacement with lithium batteries is the same but the batteries last four times as long.

While Lead Acid may be cheaper up front new lithium packs are more cost effective in the long run as well as being lighter, smaller and maintenance free. Obviously battery choices are highly dependant on individual conversions and budgets but it should not be assumed that Lead is the budget option, since it’s just not true anymore.

E-V Concepts does not use lead batteries any more. The lithium batteries from China are working well and are cost affective. We have replaced 600 pounds of lead with 30 pounds of lithium batteries. You can see the advantage.

You can use the RIXSTER fiberglass body over another car and retain the vehicle license from the donor car. With lights and a windshield wiper on your RIXSTER you can drive on streets marked under 45 mph with no vehicle license. If you drive your RIXSTER on streets marked 35 mph and you drive under 25 mph you do not need a drivers license.

This is E-V Concepts new (NEV) Neighborhood Electric Vehicle concept car. This is our newest addition to our lithium powered vehicles. It uses a golf cart frame and components. E-V Concepts owns the fiberglass body that was designed by Spherical Fiberglass Designs just for this electric vehicle concept. The body is 44" wide and 144" long and was designed to sit over any golf cart frame. The wheelbase is 96" and the rear differential is widened 12" on both sides to create a 68" wide track.

Again and always E-V Concepts main concern was to create a safe neighborhood commuter. The cars are fast but designed to run under 50 mph easily keeping up with the city traffic. With some resemblance of the 1932 Ford lowboy you get more respect than in a golf cart.

With the thousands of golf courses just in the United States replacing their golf cart inventory every two to four years for the latest models there is an abundance of late model donor golf carts available for RIXSTER conversions. With the manufactures designing their suspension and brakes to carry four adults and 500 pounds of lead batteries it seemed an ideal source for the lithium powered RIXSTER neighborhood electric vehicle.
